Fellini’s magnum opus, a film about filmmaking and about the production of images. Director Guido Anselmi (Marcello Mastroianni) would like to make a film, but has no idea what it should be about. He withdraws to a luxury spa, remembers his suppressed complexes and childhood dreams and reflects upon the absurdities of the industry, his relationship to women and, finally and fundamentally, the meaning of life.
